Trans is beautiful

In light of recent events in the United States (anti-trans legislation and the erosion of trans rights) and the United Kingdom (a recent Supreme Court ruling which limited the definition of a woman to “biological women only”), I want to reaffirm the following:

Trans women are women;

Trans men are men;

Nonbinary genders are valid.

Inclusive Wicca has always stood for the full inclusion of LGBTQ2SIA people in Wicca, and we will always affirm that gender is far more than biology, and that people’s own lived experience of who they are is valid.

Although inclusive Wicca is not a formal organization, I think I can speak for everyone involved in it (and many others) to state our unequivocal support for trans people, and I invite anyone who agrees with this statement to co-sign it in the comments.

I am nonbinary and I affirm trans and nonbinary rights.

  1. Hell yes! In my life, my circles, covens and rituals trans folx are and will be welcome and cherished and I'll do my best to create a safe space. And I won't step down in fighting for trans/queer/feminist rights.

    Who we are is not a matter of vote and a right to self-deternination is the ground I defended since I was old enough to understand the concept of "I", much before I know I was quuer anarhist. Every queer person I've ever met had the courage and determination to follow the "Know Thyself" maxim. Trans and non-binary people probably had it probably the most difficult, and I celebrate that courage to bring to the world their unique Divine sparrk!
